Black History Arts & More (BHAM)

 

Black History Arts & More (BHAM) is a collaboration of black historians and artistic in Birmingham. The aim of the project is champion black arts and culture in Birmingham and to support the development of local artists. 

The group delivers a regular monthly 'Culture Café' for culturally diverse individuals to discuss black identity, wellbeing and intercultural engagement. The BHAM Culture Café meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month , 15:00-17:00hrs at the South Entrance (Place of Welcome),  The Exchange,  Centenary Square, B1 2DR. 

Current projects delivered by the Black History Arts & More collective include:

  • The People's Champion - a ground breaking memorial mural celebrating the life of poet Benjamin Zephaniah 
  • The Underground Railroad Project - 3 Murals Reggae Royalty, Diamond Diva and Freedom Queens
